Before we jetted off to the beach, we had our first teacher conference with Aurora's teacher. We know Aurora as the bossy firecracker. Her teacher sees a whole different side. :) She had nothing but praise for Aurora. She said not only is she excelling in all her school work but she is a good person. She includes kids that don't usually have anyone to play with. She helps other students and has great manners. All the girls in class write about Aurora in their journals. They talk about how nice she is and how they like to play with her and how they want to come over to her house and play barbies. She is also quite popular with the boys, which has Russ researching all girl schools.
She is reading at a 2nd grade level, she is in the highest math and is starting to write stories. We couldn't be prouder. We apparently did something right, that and the fact that she has some great genes. She tested above the first grade level for reading and math in October when she started Fairview. It is a great feeling knowing that I taught my little girl how to read, write and do math before we let her go to a public school. It makes all the hard days seem worth it. She has a great foundation to build off of. She has gotten into trouble once for whisper talking when it was time to pay attention to the teacher, now that sounds more like my daughter.
